Southern Pro Mechanical Retracts
The Southern-Pro Retract Landing Gear System is the result of several years of refinement. These units, precision built to aircraft standards, are designed to withstand the high vibration levels experienced in today's high-powered competition airplanes. The gear units themselves are very reliable in performance and if you select a good 180 degree retract servo to power them, you will have a system that is as reliable as your radio.
As one leading flyer put it,
"If the radio works, these retracts work. If the radio quits, it really doesn't make much difference!"
These retracts feature firm positive-down and positive-up locks. They are very reliable in performance because all moving parts in each retract unit are supported by nylon bearings for low friction and one servo actuation. Every wear point is hard anodized for long life.
The units are simple and straight forward in operation. Installation is also straight forward and after you have made one or two installations, you will find it just as simple as a fixed gear installation, ever though a little more work is involved.
